About
Border Collie Wonderland
My name is Kat, I am from Kern County, Ca. My first dog ever as a child was a Border Collie. I fell in love with the breed and couldn’t image my life without a Border Collie. Animals have always been my passion. I’ve been in Future Farmers of America (FFA) where I raised and showed livestock and raised and trained a Guide Dog for the Blind. This really set my path in the direction of working with dogs in many different ways.
My journey started with my first Border Collie, Sadie, when I was a young child. When Sadie had puppies, I kept one of her puppies, Casey. My two girls were always there for me. They taught me how much a dog’s love can change a human’s life. I knew I wanted to share the special love dogs can give to others. My journey now brings me to the present and it means the world to me that my dogs make a difference in people’s lives just like they do for me.
My Border Collies have allowed me to raise and train dogs. My Border Collies have many different jobs. One job my dogs do that I’m very proud of is that they are Certified Therapy dogs helping many people in the community. They do their therapy work at local colleges to help de-stress students, visit the elderly in Assisted Living Facilities and they help build children’s confidence in reading when working at the local library. I take my dogs to AKC Confirmation Shows where they have had won many ribbons and titles. I have trained them for rally competitions, and they can also do agility and each have Trick Dog. I have begun teaching them to herd as well.
I’d like to present my present dogs, Charlie June and Legend Ary. These two dogs have the best personalities anyone can ask for, Charlie is talkative girl, and Legend is gentle spirited little man. They love adults, children…and especially babies.
